PATCHOGUE, NY – The New York State Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) endorsed Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1) for re-election in 2020.

“As police professionals who most experience and witness the trauma and effects of criminal behavior wrecked upon our fellow citizens, we understand, all too well, the significance of dedicated public servants like Lee Zeldin who possess the courage and compassion to promote the confidence in our government and courts,” said Michael Essig, President of the NYS FOP. “Lee has demonstrated a continued support of police professionals.”

The New York State FOP is the oldest and largest national association of law enforcement professionals with over 20,000 members statewide.

“The men and women of law enforcement put their lives on the line to keep our families and neighborhoods safe and I am grateful for the support of FOP,” said Congressman Zeldin. “I am an unapologetic supporter of our police, proud to have been raised in a law enforcement household, and will always strongly speak out against the anti-police agenda and rhetoric coming from people like my opponent.”
