PATCHOGUE, NY – The New York City Police Benevolent Association today endorsed Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1) for re-election in 2020.

“The NYC Police Benevolent Association is proud to announce the endorsement of Rep. Lee Zeldin. Lee understands that those who put on a blue uniform and risk their lives every single day to protect our communities deserve to be defended – not defunded,” said NYC PBA President Patrick J. Lynch. “Lee has been a champion for police from day one but today, our choice has never been more clear. We know that at home and in Washington, Lee will always fight for our members.”

Today’s endorsement follows yesterday’s announcement of 14 Long Island and New York State Police Associations’ endorsement of Congressman Zeldin.

“I am honored to have the support of our local law enforcement, including the New York City PBA, who remain resilient in the face of untold amounts of radical violence directed at them,” said Congressman Zeldin. “I come from a law enforcement family and understand just how important our police force is for our communities, and the brave sacrifices these men and women make. That’s why I helped lead the fight to permanently reauthorize and fund the Zadroga Act and 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund and will always fight to defend police not defund them.”

Yesterday, at Suffolk County PBA Headquarters, the following local law enforcement associations joined together in person to endorse Congressman Zeldin: Suffolk County PBA, Suffolk County Superior Officers Association, Suffolk, County Probation Officers Association, Suffolk County Police Conference, Suffolk County Detective Association, Suffolk County Detective Investigators PBA, Police Benevolent Association of New York State, New York State Association of PBAs, Suffolk County Deputy Sheriffs’ PBA, Suffolk County, Correction Officers Association, Nassau County PBA, Police Conference of New York, Northport PBA, East Hampton Village PBA.
