Sheet Metal Workers’ Local Union 28 Endorses Rep. Zeldin for Re-Election

PATCHOGUE, NY – The Sheet Metal Workers’ Local Union 28 endorsed Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1) for re-election.

 

“Lee has always been a friend and consistent champion for our local unions and families on Long Island,” said Eric Meslin, President and Business Manager of Local Union 28. “At the height of the Coronavirus pandemic Lee secured more than a million items of vital PPE for our essential workers.”

 

Meslin also cited Congressman Zeldin’s work bringing home critical stimulus aid for struggling small businesses and working families and securing $2 billion for the Dream Machine Electron Ion Collider Project at Brookhaven National Laboratory, which will create many high paying jobs for the community.

 

This is Congressman Zeldin’s 12th union endorsement of the 2020 election cycle. He has also been endorsed by Transport Workers Union Local 252, Suffolk County Deputy Sheriffs Police Benevolent Association, International Union of Operating Engineers Local Union 15, 15A, 15B, 15C, 15D, 15G & 15H, International Union of Operating Engineers Local 138, Road & Heavy Construction Laborers Local Union NO. 1298, International Organization of Masters, Mates & Pilots, SMART Transportation Division of the Long Island Railroad, Plumbers Local 200, Police Benevolent Association of New York State, Police Benevolent Association of New York State Troopers, Inc., and North Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters.
