PATCHOGUE, NY – The Uniformed Fire Officers Association (UFOA) endorsed Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1) for re-election in 2020.
“Congressman Zeldin has been outstanding in representing NYC fire officers. He has been there for the members of the UFOA from day one,” said Jake Lemonda, President of the UFOA. “Lee fought hard in Congress for the reauthorization of the Zadroga legislation, and last year he was on the front line to permanently fund the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund. He has been a champion to fire officers’ health, safety and well being in NYC and across the United States.”
The Uniformed Fire Officers Association is a union for lieutenants, captains, battalion chiefs, deputy chiefs, medical officers and supervising fire marshals in the Fire Department of New York. The organization is Local 854 of the International Association of Fire Fighters.
“Our firefighters are the best of the best in America, and we owe them our never ending gratitude for everything they do to help our community,” said Congressman Zeldin. “I was honored to help lead the effort to permanently fund the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund, and I will always be a staunch advocate for the men and women of the UFOA.”
This is Congressman Zeldin’s 32nd union endorsement of the 2020 campaign. For a full list of Congressman Zeldin’s endorsements, click here.
